My Week in Review

Well other than Sunday cuz i believe i covered that in my last post...unless you want me to talk about Calgary again...no?...moving on

Monday starts the string of 4 midterms in 4 days...now some will say Hebrew quiz doesn't count...you take a dead language and tell me if every quiz doesn't feel like a midterm...then there was the studying of my conducting exam and one blank CD later...i was off to bed

Tuesday starts with jogging and studying for conducting and the second exam...BLAH...the day was good studied for Theology of Luther, well not really but enough, and then laughed at gym night and watched an intriguing episode of House...i love that man he's so...what's the word...enthralling

Wednesday duty day and another midterm done...almost over...thank the Lord...but then came the night and the Ducks game...and not only did they wipe Edmonton's butts around the rink...but check out the picture...she did that under her own willpower...honest i didn't use a daterape drug this time

Thursday...the last day of midterms...the practical conducting exam...writing on it but it's over and i'm ever so happy...not much happened on thursday...i guess i'm boring...but i feel i'm forgetting something though...but oh well

Friday...did presentation stuff in the morning...but other than that nothing til Basketball that night...which was disappointing to say the least...cuz we can't win...close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, nuclear weapons and ear training...not really but you get the point...and i watched The Breakfast Club...i truly do love that movie and then Saturday came and i was still awake until 3

Saturday...Good Afternoon...well at least that's when my day started...and LadyChoco and i went to the mall cuz i needed a haircut...that's righ i said it...a haricut...i look like i'm in high school...cuz the hairdresser thought she and i were...and then the Leafs kicked soem ass...as well as the Duckies and then came dance lessons...which was so much fun...really cuz i found out i was good at it and then we came back to dorm and just sat around and felt possibly the best i had all week...but the week was good...the people here make life so much better cuz i don't know where i'd be without them...they make my week good

Quote of the Day Me-"what was that look" LadyChoco-"I'm a horny bastard and you're the best i got"...referring to The Breakfast Club you sickoes jeez get your minds out of the gutter...lol
Song of the Moment: Siren of the 101 by Over It...did something different bought a CD by the cover art...and i can't go wrong

Monday Morning 10am...our fearless hero is...well he's typing this...but he's been awake for 2 hours now...and having recently adventured to Calgary...a place where they openly accept their Redneckship (made up word) with something called the Stampede...something their brother to the north...could never do...but anywho...we left on a bus and our hero asked himself continuously why does this feel like the longest drive known unto man...when it's only 3 hours long...3 hours of Hebrew, music (until i ran out of batteries...which was due to Karma) nad talking to those people sitting close to you on the bus.

Then you arrive in a place that seems to have been forgotten by time where things from the 90s are still cool...don't ask me what they are cuz i'm still stuck in the 80s not that i remember them...but that's not important...we arrive at a church it's big and we find that they have given us one room for the choir to change in...hmm...and all we thought was "where's Thothy when we need him? Sobe anyone?" we practice and then we're taken to a place that seves their tea in vaporizers...the Old Spaghetti Factory...now you know what their employees are doing in the back while they make your food and what that green stuff is in the garlic butter...that makes you eat like 6 loaves of the bread...but dinner was good...i was sitting with very enjoyable company...then we went back i learned to tie a four-in-hand knot...thanks Irishman...the service was good...what can i say we sang all those Lutheran favourites from "Amighy Fortress is Luther", "Luther's One Foundation" "Lift High the Luther" and "Hark the Voice of Luther Calling"...i'm going to say right now that those titles are only out of jest and i apologize profusely to anyone that becomes offended by that...but then we began the journey home

which was spent mostly in the dark...not that i'm complaining...we watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and i learned i don't nearly now as many of the words i thought i did...the one sitting beside me thought it funny when i started to make up words to something that's supposed to rhyme...but no it was good...i got writer's block and eventually got into the question game...with things like most romantic date, worst date...mmm broken ankle...most attractive thing to find in opposite sex, and unattractive, and my favourite perfect shoe size...then we arrived home...after much stimulating commentary...to watch the battle of Helm's deep and converse on going back in time for love...it was good but now i'm back...anyways onto life

Wisdom Passed from Father to Son

For awhile lately i've felt like the weight of the world was resting on my puny unmuscular...yet supermanlike...shoulders...not really but a guy can dream right...but i'm here to impart on you some wisdom that was given to me by a friend of mine and i want to pass it on because i feel like others are struggling with this as well

I was feeling tired...i took what i believed to be an easier course load this year so that i could get done all the things that i wanted to this year, be an RA, lead praise music, get good grades and socialize with my friends and still be able to talk to family at home...and what my friend told me was this...i hope i get this right..."when you're at university you try to take part in all that university has to offer, and you do a lot of different things, but there are times when you need to sit back and decide what you're priorities are and build your time around that...do what's important to you"

to my friend i have to thank you after talking to you i felt a weight lifted off my shoulders and i appreciate it...i was able to look at things and i've seen that worrying is not high on the priority list and i've looked at exactly what is important to me...and for this i thank you

It's All in the Hands of God

We've all had times in our lives when things happen in our lives and we don't understand why they happened or even how they happened...it's just like why would i be forced to got through that...and then a light shines in the dark and we suddenly have a revelation...a lightbulb goes on if you will...a flicking of a metaphorical switch if you will...i wonder how long i can go on with this...that long

No God puts things in our lives so that we'll grow/realize/see something that's always been there and maybe we just never saw it b4, thought about it before or so that we can learn from it and be able to help others who will go through similar situations later in life...and it's times like right now that i'm glad that God does it...he gave me one of those on Tuesday...and i'm glad that he did...i feel like i've grown, and that things will only get better

The Blues Brothers...Show and Revue!!!

So last night i was to originally go over to Wang to watch Anne of Green Gables...not a bad flick one i've seen many many times...but after phoning home and talking to my dad for awhile he does this "oh Eric i gotta go "The Blues Brothers" is on in 20 minutes...and hangs up...on his son for a movie...but understandably so

So what do i do...i go over to Wang and watch The Blues Brothers and LadyChoco watched all the way through...if you've never seen The Blues Brothers...it is in my opinion the best musical ever...John Belushi and Dan Akroyd are geniuses...it's got great music with Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and James Brown...to name a few...but it's hilarious too boot...any movie with the Illinois Nazis has to be funny right...and if you watch with me you can see me do the choreography to "Stand By Your Man"

To some this movie is purely stupidity and they wouldn't watch it all the way through if you paid them...but to me it's my favourite movie ever made...step aside Breakfast Club...and you'd agree if you'd seen the smile on my face after the movie...it was there the entire night and even this morning when i was singing Blues Brothers' songs in the shower...this movie gets 2 big thumbs up

Quote of the Day: "The women...I want your women...the little girl...how much for your daughters?" Joliet Jake
Song of the Moment: "Stand By Your Man" by The Blues Brothers or by Tammy Wynette...use the choreography and you'll be the centre of attention

I'm But One Man

Some people may read this and say he's just whining about nothing and that he doesn't know how hard it could be...his problems aren't that bad...but at the same time it all builds up and slowly weighs on my head and now is the time to end this and figure out a way to feel like i can be myself without having people get mad at me...what can i say i got in this position by being an avid people pleaser

I've kept things inside only because i don't want things to get awkward between friends...but sometimes i jsut need to take the awkwardness because i'm not going to hurt myself or others over this anymore...cuz somethings just aren't worth this...only a few know what i'm talking about...but i got some advice from someone younger than myself and it was like a light went on in my head

But never fear you'll have the old me back soon enough...i jsut need to get a couple things sorted out with myself...so please pray for me and i'll be back b4 you finish turkey

Doing Stupid Things and Saying Sorry

Have you ever done something stupid to someone close to you and afterwards it's like something changed...like they're greatest fear of you hurting them came true...and that now you wouldn't be able to talk to them the same or those silences that were once comfortable have now become awkward...and it's not that you wanted to hurt them or push them away you had an incredible lapse of judgment and did it...and you can only hope that they'll give you a second chance...cuz not everyone gives those out freely

I did something stupid today...and instantly regretted doing it...and to that person I'm sorry...i should never have done what i did and i can only hope that i haven't screwed up bad enough to not get a second chance...i know that i've already privately apologized but now maybe people will understand your post and see that the person who was a jerk is sorry...not that they need to know...and now i'm into babbling so i'm jsut going to end it here

Quote of the Day: "But you don't know what you've got til it's gone" HEY Paradise put up a parking lot...i have no idea who sings that you can tell me
